Olive Grove Wagyu maintains a strong commitment to animal health. Every year, all animals receive vaccinations for 7in1 and Pestiguard. Additionally, all of our bulls are vaccinated against Vibrio. Each year, newborn calves undergo testing for Pestivirus and are DNA tested for any genetic conditions.

Our name reflects our cattle's lifestyle, as they graze through the Olive Grove by the Macintyre Brook River. They have access to the river, fresh running water, lush grass, and olive trees, which provide shade and occasional foraging opportunities. Their diet is enriched with essential minerals and trace elements available throughout the year. The inclusion of olive leaves contributes to a well-balanced diet, as they are known to provide antioxidants, vitamins, and beneficial fatty acids. This diverse range of nutrients supports the cattle's overall health, promoting strong immune systems and optimal growth.

Weaning is the process of separating a calf from its mother, allowing it to graze independently among a group of similarly aged animals. This transition occurs when the calf no longer depends on its mother's milk and begins to graze on its own, typically around five to seven months of age.
The weaning process lasts between seven to ten days, during which the newly weaned calves learn to navigate calmly through gateways, down a race, and out of the crush into new paddocks, ensuring they do not run off and injure themselves. Throughout this period, their mothers remain in an adjacent paddock.
